Jaichima and Vicente
Huichol Medicine People
Jaichima is from the Indios Huichol tribe called the Wirarika of the Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico. She is a Mara'akame medicine person, taught in both traditional tribal and ancient ways of their lineage. She speaks Spanish, English, as well as, other languages. She was guided by her father Haka'ula in many forms and physical healing. Ulu'temay, her god father, taught her the art of the placement of objects for healing. She performs weddings and baptisms. Jaichima and her brother Vicente Rutury work together. They are indigenous people who are bearers of their own very efficient traditions. They are both very proud to be able to speak English and talk for themselves of their tribe and culture. They are in their own element in both worlds.
Rutury (Vicente) a Wirarika from the Indios Huichol tribe of the Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico. As a Mara'akame Medicine person they are protectors of the Ancient ways. He speaks English, Spanish and many other languages. Since he was born he has been in the path of Mara'akame. He was taught by Maiwemeh, Hakaula, Hauweli and now Jaichima. From the small village of San Sebastian Teponahuastlan Mesquitic, Rutury has gone through many hard lessons that will last an entire life time in his Medicine path. He is a committed protector of the Huichol culture. Since joining his sister, Jaichima in the US, both of them have been working in their traditional ways.
